Saudi minister says East-West pipeline pumps 5.8M barrels daily

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announces restoration of East-West pipeline’s capacity

Saudi Arabia restored its operational capacity to pump 5.8 million barrels of oil per day through the East-West pipeline, the country’s industry and mineral resources minister announced on Tuesday.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman stated the restoration of the pipeline’s capacity starting in the morning, Al Awsat reporded.

The East-West pipeline serves as a main route for transporting crude oil in Saudi Arabia by connecting eastern production areas to Red Sea export ports.

And due the disruption of ⁠oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia has been using the pipeline to reroute oil to Yanbu.

Bin Salman shared the development during a panel discussion at the GCC 2026 Forum in Bahrain’s capital Manama.
